Our Story

Founded in 1984 as Lee Soon Seng Plastic Industries (LSSPI) and recognised as Benxon, we have risen to become Malaysia’s premier packaging company, specialising in sustainable plastic food packaging solutions.

Starting with just two vacuum forming machines and eight employees, our commitment to innovation and quality has seen us grow to offer over 1,000 product lines to enhance quality of life. Under the leadership of Mitsui & Co. and FPCO, our expansion beyond Malaysia has been marked by leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance our production capabilities and maintain our leadership position in the packaging industry.

OUR HISTORY

Our Milestones

1984

Lee Soon Seng Plastic Industries established on May 4, with initial setup of 2 semi-auto vacuum forming machines and 8 employees.

1992

Transition to a new factory featuring 130,000 sq ft of land and a 15,000 sq ft build-up area.

1996

Facilities expanded to include a 40,000 sq ft build-up area.

2003

Further expansion to 260,000 sq ft of land and an 85,000 sq ft build-up area.

2004

Began extruding HIPS and PP plastic sheets, marking a significant step into international markets.

2006

Facilities grew to a 170,000 sq ft build-up area; started extruding PET plastic sheets.

2008

Achieved listing on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) on February 28, becoming fully owned by SCGM Berhad.

2009

Expanded facility to encompass 390,000 sq ft of land and a 180,000 sq ft build-up area.

2013

Introduced Polylactic Acid (PLA) plastic sheets, emphasizing sustainability with 100% plant-based materials.

2014

Launched ‘Hygienic’ PP disposable cups, featuring a fully automated process from resin to packing.

2017

Introduced Tamper Evident food box containers and super high clarity PET cups, along with Co-Extrusion for bi-colour PET sheets, enhancing food box design aesthetics.

2019

Relocated to a new factory equipped with Industry 4.0 facilities, effectively doubling production capacity.

2022-Present

Leadership under Mitsui & Co. and FPCO, steering towards future advancements.
