FROM START TO FINISH

Our Plastic Container Manufacturing Process

Two people sitting on grass eat salads with chopsticks, smiling and facing each other, each holding a black bowl—showcasing the convenience of food packaging in Malaysia for outdoor meals.

We employ the vacuum or pressure forming method of thermoforming for the manufacturing of our plastic food packaging. This is an advanced technique that heats plastic until pliable, then shapes it over moulds under vacuum.

This efficient method allows for rapid production of detailed and complex shapes, offering benefits such as cost-effectiveness, lightweight products, and design flexibility. Thermoforming supports sustainability through the use of recyclable materials, making it an eco-friendly choice for modern packaging solutions.

Production Process

We turn fresh ideas into your next favourite packaging, guiding each concept through a detailed journey from sketch to shelf. Discover our process.

Market Research

Analyse trends and revisit existing products to uncover unique opportunities in food packaging.

Conceptual Design

Craft standout designs with innovative features to address the uniques opportunities identified.

Material Selection

Identify and choose the right type of plastic, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polypropylene (PP) polymers, to meet all packaging requirements.

Mould Design

Precision engineering of the moulds composed of two halves, to ensure high-quality, consistent packaging.

Prototyping

Create tangible models for real-world evaluation and refinement.

Testing and Optimising

Rigorous testing enhances packaging durability, functionality, and sustainability.

Production

Efficiently scaling up production to meet market demand for quality packaging.

Production Cycle

Sheeting Process

Starts by selecting the ideal plastic resin, melting it down, and extruding it into thin sheets. These are then cooled and precisely trimmed, readying them for the moulding process that shapes the future of packaging.

Heating

The plastic sheets are carefully heated to a pliable state, ensuring they’re soft enough for moulding yet retain their integrity, setting the stage for the vacuum forming process.

Note: As different materials require different temperature settings, we optimise the machine parameter settings accordingly while maintaining optimal air and cooling systems to ensure uniform heat distribution across the plastic sheets.

Forming

Through forming, the heated, pliable sheets are snugly fitted onto moulds. This process ensures each sheet adopts the exact shape of the container, with precision in every curve.

Cooling

Post-moulding, the shaped plastic is cooled while still on the mould, employing techniques like compressed air to ensure quick and even cooling. This crucial step solidifies the transformation, locking in the container's final, durable form.

Trimming

Excess material around the newly formed containers is meticulously trimmed, resulting in a clean, finished product that meets the highest standards of quality and design.

Regrinding and
Reprocessing

Excess trimmed material is collected, crushed, and fed into an extruder machine, where it’s converted into high-quality plastic resin for reuse. This cycle cuts waste and enhances sustainability by lowering the need for new, virgin raw materials.

Quality Inspection

The containers undergo thorough checks for thickness, shape, and integrity, ensuring only premium products proceed.

Packaging for
Distribution

The approved containers are then packaged for shipment to retailers or consumers, completing their production journey and starting their usage phase.
